Breathtaking Strength Act

As a young dancer Michèle Completed all R.A.D ballet, as well as all modern I.D.T.A. and Dance Core exams. She was the winner of her Solo Performer’s modern exam. She went onto make a career as a musical theatre performer and ballet dancer.

Michèle is currently a principal dancer with Bovim Ballet Company and performs ‘Classical Strength Acts’ with her Ukrainian dance partner Oleksii Ishchenko.

Michele’s theatre credits include: West Side Story, Showboat, Queen at the Ballet, Sunset Boulevard, Private Presley, What A Feeling, Jesus Christ Super Star, Grease, Cats, Saturday Night Fever, Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera and Fame the Musical. She has also performed in ‘The Nutcracker Suite’ and ‘Swan Lake’ with Cape Town City Ballet.

Oleksii or Alex, as most people call him, is originally from Kiev Ukraine and has been dancing professionally for most of his life. Oleksii's training includes Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Irish Tap, Stage Acrobatics, Latin, Traditional Folk Dance and Ballroom. He was offered a spot in a professional ballet school at the age of 10 and has been dancing ever since. He became a professional dancer as part of the Virsky Ballet Company at the age of 17 where he toured through America, Japan, Canada, Europe and Mexico. He was the lead dancer in the show "Celebration" at Benidorm Palace, Spain, in 2006/2007. He has most recently been around the world on several occasions on board 5 star cruise liners as the dance captain and principal dancer where he had the pleasure of training with Ilya and Valerie from Cirque Du Soliel.

Since moving to South Africa in 2013, Oleksii has been involved in numerous productions including last seasons "Queen at the Ballet" with Bovim Ballet. He has most recently made his debut in musical theatre in the Fugards production of "West Side Story".

When Oleksii is not on the stage he is coaching some of South Africa's top figure skaters and helping develop the countries young talent.
